Trojan horse at ATMs

The face of the bank now, no matter how strange it sounds, is a car that issues cash. It is possible to upset the client in case of incompetence of ATMs. It will not be possible to deposit money, withdraw cash, too, but, in some cases, the working apparatus for issuing funds is able to upset the person, however, not immediately, and after the losses of finance from accounts, which have been proven many times.

The ATM system is similar to a system of a regular personal computer, but a program is installed on this device that is functionally suitable for money transactions. The system is the same and there is no doubt that the Trojan virus has proved itself for ATMs.

The antivirus company reported a lull, but this does not mean that no viruses are introduced into ATM systems. Carder, scammers with payment cards, collaborate with the creators of the viruses, trying to invent an increasingly brilliant plan of theft. Malicious programs become substantially attractive for scammers, and they are ready to pay freedom for them.

The payment card that has ended up at the ATM falls under the strike by the presence of a magnetic tape. The “issuance” of the apparatus of issuing money is carried out by serving the device on the account — the false command and banknotes will be in the hands of the bandits. Competering among themselves, banks use the keyboard not only input of the PIN code, but also in the case of replenishment of the account or payments for utilities, where the ATM keyboard applies an unprotected regime. Troyan’s virus can also use this.

The car of banks, in fact, is not so stupid — it does not go on the «left» sites, and you can’t transfer the virus from the outside world to it. How then does the infection occur? In one case, fraudsters capture the bank employee, and in the other — an engineer for repairing ATMs to hammer with paper reading gap. And the third method is to open an ATM without an available key by connecting to the ATM information system. But, unfortunately, the bank’s client, the holder of the plastic card, cannot visually determine the presence of a malicious program on the apparatus for the issuance of monetary currency. In this case, it is necessary to contact the bodies of justice for help, but not the fact that this will help you return the lost means.
