If you need to build a house on a clay or another soft soil, it is very difficult to choose a strong foundation. The fact is that such soils are quite intensively swelling. Therefore, you have to use a monolithic version of the base for building. But first you need to carry out preparation.
It begins with the fact that a rather voluminous trench breaks out, the area of which should be equal to the area of the house itself. After that, the sand falls asleep into it to form a pillow with a thickness of up to 30 cm. Then a reinforced concrete slab is installed on this pillow, the dimensions of which are slightly larger than the future house.
In fact, this option for arranging the foundation is quite cheap. Still, there is no need to carry out large-scale work. The most important thing is that the site does not have a large slope of the soil. In this method, the basement can also be provided. But it will already be worth the future owner more expensive.
