Bicycle paths in Vinnitsa will be by August!

Vinnitsa authorities once again proved that if they are already taking up the topic, they will bring to the end.

When several cyclists were invited to the city hall three weeks ago (most of which were found through the Internet forum) to consult bicycle paths, few believed that something worthwhile would come out of this “campaign”. Many believed that this would be a simple “speaking” for eye view and an occasion for newspaper articles under the slogans “See how good our power is about people”, and then “descent on the brakes”.

But it turned out in a completely different way. In three weeks, a considerable part of the preparatory and organizational work has been done: a “pilot” microdistrict was determined, on the basis of which the gaskets of bicycle paths in the city — cherries will be produced; Estimated routes were carried out, the distance was measured, the quality of the road surface on the routes and the need to repair it are determined; Compiled an approximate estimate of work.

Well, actually, yesterday, Vinnitsa city head Vladimir Groysman summed up under preliminary, «theoretical» works. So, the question «to be or not to be» is not discussed — «to be». But money for everything at once — not enough. Well, these are the realities of life, there is no getting away from them. Therefore, Vladimir Borisovich proposed to implement, first, the first stage: to equip a bicycle path along the Khmelnitsky highway. From the bus station to Gagarin Square. There is a sidewalk of two parts, one of which can be «given» to cyclists. But that’s not all. The first stage included two more bicycle paths: along Kosmonautov Avenue and on Pirogov’s passage (from the electric network to the crop market). The authorities will also negotiate with large shopping centers for the arrangement of bicycle parking.

The mayor set a clear deadline for these works: until August 1. How he joked — it is possible by winter, but in winter there will be few cyclists. Therefore, city services will have to get up.

But the cyclists «sit out» will not work. Again, according to Vladimir Groysman, we are customers, city authorities and services — contractors. So, we will “control the work of the whole world”. So, you look, with common efforts, there will be excellent bike paths in the city.
