Schools for the sale of building materials now have two products that are practically not inferior to each other — these are compounds with butter and varnish compositions. The choice of one type or another is determined by the necessary coating type of protection. When using varnish, it forms on the basis of a strong protecting layer, pollution from which are perfectly removed. The use of oils involves the penetration of wood into fibers, while they are perfectly impregnated. Such a protective coating allows you to slightly change the color of wood-the color can be white, transparent and noble-brown.
Lacques are classified into three types: based on acrylate polymers, polyurethane and on the basis of artificial resins. Varnishes are also highlighted, which are made using modified polyurethane-based dispersion-water-dispersion. Such varnishes have no effect on the natural color of wood. Polyuretan is able to “set fire to” the wood slightly, thereby giving saturated and original shades.
As for the oils, they are made from natural substances — from soy, sunflower, linseed and similar oils. In addition to the oils themselves, artificial ingredients, for example, polyurethane, which endows the coating with wear resistance and strength. Oils penetrate into wood, while leaving a small layer. Such coatings do not form a protective film. Strengthening the effect is achieved by adding additives, for example, wax.
