Representatives of the public of Kirovograd and the region came to a meeting with the newly appointed Governor of the Kirovograd region Sergei Kuzmenko. Representatives of self -defense and public movement «Maidan», among whom were Nikolai Jogan, Vladimir Fundovnoy, Oleg, Andrei Maksyut, Igor Kovtunenko, Oleg Bad, and others came in order to tell Kuzmenko their «fauna» and demand from him to resign from him on their own.
From the very beginning of the conversation, the new governor of the Kirovograd region told visitors about their readiness to work openly, and promised that representatives of public organizations and journalists will always be able to come here with requests and proposals. Kuzmenko recalled that he had never hidden from anyone, and was not afraid to meet anyone. He reminded visitors that the President of Ukraine appointed him by his decision in the period of preparation for the parliamentary elections. According to the governor, many candidates for deputies and political parties would like to build their election campaign on his name. And yet he is ready for a meeting, and for communication, and for joint work with the public, said the head of the OG. However, the visitors did not listen to him, said that he would not work in the region, offered him to put up powers and put a blank sheet of paper and a pen for him to leave his departure. Sergei Kuzmenko replied that he was repeatedly sat in his life in front of a clean sheet of paper, but he always made decisions about what to do and where to work. He recalled that he worked for many years in business, in administrative positions, and is ready to answer for every day of his work. And always his activity was aimed at the good of the Alexandria district, the Kirovograd region and Ukraine. The public does not want to see Kuzmenko as the governor of the region, mainly because of the scandalous law adopted by the WP of Ukraine on January 16. The governor on this occasion replied that on that day he came to parliament solely in order to adopt the state budget, and was against the adoption of the Law on Clutch. He then announced this publicly, and even wrote a statement to the apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada that his voice would not be counted. In addition, Sergei Kuzmenko said that his current appointment is supported by hundreds of people — entrepreneurs, doctors, teachers, and grainstones. All of them are ready to come to Kirovograd to defend him, but he is not a criminal, but these people should do their own business, fulfill their direct duties. Only in this case, stability can occur in the region, and the governor also intends to fight with corruption and bureaucracy, because they prevent the attracting investors. Regarding the law on lustration, the head of the Regional State Administration said that in any case it is necessary to adhere to the law, and not to put forward groundless accusations — the people’s deputies should not work under pressure and threats. Kuzmenko replied that Nikolai Jogan that the Kirovograd region should become the territory of the law, that he was ready to be a public partner in this and give a hand in the fight against lawlessness.
