While the Ukrainian government decides on the future reaction of Ukraine, the Crimeans are increasingly thinking about the upcoming series of problems that may arise very soon. And first of all, the issue of financing and ensuring the life support system of Crimea is raised. Crimea — an energy -dependent region, and is also considered to be a very large consumer of electricity. The function of providing Crimea by electricity is laid at the Crimean ES NEC Ukrenergo GP, which makes the supply of about 80 % of electricity from the mainland of Ukraine received in the production of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
Further, using power lines with a voltage of 220/330 kV, energy enters through the isthmus of Krasnoperekopsk and Chongar along high -voltage lines of 330 kV throughput, which are 1250 MW. The supply of electricity to consumers himself is performed by Krymenergo OJSC, the owner of about 58 % of the shares of which is Rinat Akhmetov, 25 % — NEC Ukrenergo. It is of interest that in the territory of Crimea, seasonal fluctuations in the consumption of electricity do not actually arise, which is not characteristic of industrial enterprises of the energy sphere. In winter, the amount of electricity increases, due to significant consumption for providing heating and lighting, and in summer the electrical costs in the resort zone are significantly increased, which widely applies a diverse spectrum of air conditioning systems. Not a small amount of electricity take irrigation systems. Own provision of the need for ARC in electricity is almost 20 %. With all this, only a few companies are manufacturers of energy.“On the issue of energy supply, Crimea is not independent. For example, ARC produces 10 times less electricity than consumes. The Russian leadership promises to provide the ARC with gas turbine installations, but these measures are not enough to meet the energy needs of the peninsula. Also, the Gas Gaza is not enough for its own needs, even excluding its use for the extraction of its own electricity, ”said Yuri Pralein, Minister of Energy of Ukraine. With all this, the minister said that Ukraine does not intend to deprive the Crimea of energy supply systems.
